Godswell Park recognises that, for many of us, the enjoyment of good food is an important part of our lives. Our team of chefs do their utmost to accommodate our residents’ wishes through the preparation of mouth watering meals using the freshest ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible. Particular attention is given to the nutritional requirements of each resident and we can cater for special and therapeutic diets as advised by specialist staff and as agreed in each resident’s plan of care.
Breakfast, either continental or full English, is served in the dining room or in the comfort of each resident’s own room at the time of their choice.
Many of our residents will meet together for a complimentary glass of sherry, served in one of our sitting rooms, prior to enjoying a three course luncheon served between midday and 2.30pm
The dining room also opens for supper between 6pm and 7.30pm whilst residents who prefer room service may enjoy the same meals in the privacy of their own accommodation.
The menu choices change constantly and include many traditional dishes whilst also encouraging residents to sample a variety of new tastes which they may not have had the opportunity of experiencing. Our food is freshly cooked to order, not like many care homes where all meals are prepared hours in advance and then ‘kept hot’.
Morning coffee and afternoon tea, with a selection of homemade cakes and pastries, are available in the sitting rooms or by tray service. A late evening snack is provided for our night owls. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are freely available at any time throughout the day or night, and visitors are welcome to join our residents either for meals or simply to chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
Birthday parties and other celebrations are popular ways of marking important dates and our chefs and catering manager are always delighted to assist with all arrangements.
“I have always been a fussy eater but I am amazed at how the catering team have encouraged me to try some wonderful new dishes. The food here is excellent.”
